3 Tips To Distract A Toddler During A Tantrum

Kids will be kids and as we all know tantrums and disagreements are inevitable. So, for all those parents who think parenting is hard (we hear you), here are three tips to sidetrack your kid during a tantrum.

1. Get them to colour away

When your toddler throws a tantrum, seat him/her down with the coloring book and crayons and walk away. Walk into the next room and take a break. Colouring is a huge stress buster and soon you will find your toddler in a pleasant mood.

2. Change the setting.

If you’re in the living room, move to the playroom or bedroom. If you have a really small house, take a walk to the park with your little one. This change in setting will help calm them down and will help them forget what their tantrum was all about.

3. Dance Away.

Sometimes, there’s no avoiding the inevitable tantrum. So instead of fighting it, put on some peppy music and jump around with the kids. We guarantee that your angry child will soon be exhausted to argue and will be smiling from ear to ear dancing with you.
